Teleconferencing, also referred to as Audio Conference Calls or Conference Call Services, refer to an phone call whrere more than 2 people are on one phone call. Also called 'Telemeeting', 'Conference Call', 'Audio Conference', participants dial into the "conference" from anywhere in the world to join the meeting. These "online meetings" can be one way (i.e. most of the participants can only hear the main speaker(s)) or may be considered multi-way (i.e. everyone on the call can contribute to the discussion). Examples of where and when the former method (one-way audio conference calling) is used would be for product training withing a company with distributed staff or the audio to the presentation of a conference using Poweroint.
All you need to take part is a normal telephone (or mobile). Callers dial into a phone number, enter a PIN code and can then take part in the discussion.
Sometimes, as mentioned above, the main speaker may be supporting a Powerpoint presentaion (or using some other method of presenting ideas in a visual format). If this is the case, you will then require a slighly different option for the presentation of the visuals - this might mean that you "share" your PC over the web. You wil then require our Web Conferencing Services
