Admin/Administration Contact
A company's Administration contact has additional privileges (eg creating/editing users, viewing reports, editing billing settings etc). By default, the first person in a company is the Administrator (eg if you set up a free trial for yourself, you would be the administrator), but it is possible to have multiple administrators in a company.

Announcements
When new callers join or leave the conference call, this setting allows a message to be played to everyone in the conference that 'a new caller has joined' or 'someone has left the conference'. This can be useful if you are holding a large meeting where you would like to introduce everyone.

Audio Conference
More than 2 people on one phone call. Also called 'Telemeeting', 'TeleConference', 'Conference Call', you can dial in from anywhere to join the meeting. All you need to take part is a normal telephone (or mobile). Callers dial into a phone number, enter a PIN code and then can all talk to each other. An example would be a conference call between a lawyer in New York, a businessman in London and a colleague in Paris.

Account Status
The status of your own account. This can be either i) a Temporary Trial Account, which means you've yet to pay an Invoice and don't have certain features (like being able to dial out from your conference), or ii) a Fully Active Account, which means you've paid an Invoice and have the benefit of all the features of 247meeting

Bill Code
This setting prompts the Host of the call to enter a numeric Bill Code which will show on the Invoice. This can be useful for companies that use job numbers to keep track of time/work done (eg Legal and Accountancy companies).

Billing Contact
see also Invoicing Contact; this is the contact to whom all Invoices should be addressed (eg 'John Smith' or 'Accounts Payable')

Conference Call
see Audio Conference

Conference name
The name of the conference that will show on Invoices and Reports from 247meeting. The default is the Host's name.

Copy Invoices
Invoices are emailed to the Billing Contact at the beginning of each month. It's also possible to copy the invoice to one or more other email addresses (eg the Billing Contact is 'accounts-payable@yourcompany.com', but you also want to see the Invoice each month, so you can add your own email here). To add in multiple email addresses, just separate each one with a semi-colon (eg john.smith@yourcompany.com;mary.jones@yourcompany.com)

Currency
The currency you would like to be Invoiced in. You can select from Euro (EUR) or Pounds Sterling (GBP).

A Guest is a person invited to the conference. A Guest is also sometimes referred to as a 'Participant', 'Invitee', 'Conferee' or 'Attendee'.

Host
The Host is the person 'hosting' the conference. Usually the person that organises the conference, but also the person paying for the conference! The Host has certain privileges not available to Guests, eg when the Host hangs up, the call finishes even if there are still Guests connected. The Host is also sometimes referred to as the 'Moderator', 'Chair', 'Leader' or 'Presenter'.

Invoice
Your monthly bill, sent to you by email and payable within 30 days of receipt.

This can be anything you choose, although the longer and more complicated it is, the better. If you forget it, you can always retrieve it using the 'Forgot Password' link underneath the login box on the home page.

Payment Method
You can pay by credit card (stored securely on our payment partners' servers) or monthly invoice in arrears.

User List
List of users in your company

Video Conference
Using video, participants in the call can see each other. Solutions vary from high-end bespoke hardware with dedicated connections (which give a very 'real' feeling) to simple webcam versions (which is built into 247meeting's Web Conference solution)

Web Conferencing
Web Conferencing allows you to show a PowerPoint (or other documents) via the web to anyone with an internet connection. From your desk in London, you could:

  • show a Sales presentation to a potential customer in New York
  • show an Excel spreadsheet to your Financial advisers in Lisbon
  • train your colleagues in Warsaw on some new software you've written

Webcast
One-to-many 'broadcast via the web' of a presentation/documents/video content, usually with sound as well. This is one-way, ie participants don't interact
with the presenter(s).

Webconf License
Each user is entitled to a free one-to-one web conference license

Webinar
A Webinar ("Web Seminar") is a presentation given over the internet to an audience that is in different locations. As an example, a company based in London that sells widgets could give a Webinar on their latest product range to potential customers in Paris, New York and Sydney. This is similar to a Web Conference, but usually:
there is a formal presentation given (eg PowerPoint), often from an industry 'expert'
the audience are usually 'muted' until the end of the presentation, when they get to ask questions
