247MEETING SCOOPS VOICE CONFERENCING DEALS WORTH EUR250k (21st Oct, 2008)
==================================================================
- Deals completed with Sogeti Ireland, Hertz Europe & O'Donnell Sweeney Eversheds
- Voice conferencing services to be provided through 247meeting's new low-cost automated framework
- Service based in Dublin, with points of presence in more than fifty countries worldwide
Dublin, 21st October 2008 - 247meeting, the provider of audio and web conferencing services, today announced the completion of deals worth more than EUR250k over the next five years with Sogeti Ireland, Hertz Europe and O'Donnell Sweeney Eversheds. The deals will see the new clients use 247meeting's fully automated global conference calling service to save up to 66% on their existing conference call costs over the next five years.
The three companies are now using 247meeting's audio conference calling facilities, and are also trialling 247meeting's web-based video conferencing system. The deals provide a solid base from which 247meeting can grow its business, which was launched in May of this year.
247meeting routes national and international calls intelligently across its own network and through the internet. Many of its competitors rely on old-fashioned telephone companies, who charge prohibitive prices for international conference calls. The new service offers flat rates of just 5c per minute from anywhere in the world, and has local landline access numbers in more than 50 countries covering more than one third of the world's population.
Simon Bradbury, senior IT consultant, Sogeti Ireland, said "As part of a global organisation, Sogeti Ireland depends heavily on our communications infrastructure. We must have high quality, reliable and easy-to-access teleconferencing solutions to connect with colleagues from across Europe and the United States. 247meeting's global flat-rate keeps our costs to a minimum."
Gavan Doherty, managing director, 247meeting, said "These deals mark a milestone in 247meeting's growth strategy, providing a solid base from which we can develop into a significant player in the market. In the current economic climate, and after last week's frugal Budget, companies are looking for ways to reduce their outgoings. 247meeting can typically deliver savings of more than 66% on a company's conference call bill. In the Irish market, worth about EUR15m annually, up to EUR10m could be saved by switching to 247meeting."

NEW CONFERENCE CALL SERVICE LINKS 30 COUNTRIES & TARGETS EUR5M SAVINGS
PRESS RELEASE
- 247meeting has launched its breakthrough conference call service
- Based in Ireland with points of presence in more than 30 countries
- Savings of up to EUR5m annually for Irish firms through automatic intelligent routing of calls and reduced administration charges
- First conferencing provider to offer flat access rates from anywhere in the world
Dublin, 20th May 2008 - 247meeting, the provider of audio and web conference services, today launched its fully-automated global conference calling service. 247meeting can save companies up to 50% on conference call charges. 247meeting routes national and international calls intelligently across its own network and through the internet, rather than relying on old-fashioned telecoms companies, who charge prohibitive prices for international conferences. The new service offers flat rates of just 5c per minute from anywhere in the world, and has local landline access numbers in more than 30 countries covering more than one third of the world’s population.
247meeting can typically deliver savings of more than 50% on a company's conference call bill. These savings are highest for a company that makes conference calls with customers or colleagues abroad. In the Irish market, worth about EUR15m annually, up to EUR5m could be saved by switching to 247meeting.
The company was founded by Gavan Doherty, who previously worked as an engineer in telecoms infrastructure giant Avaya. As an experienced designer of conference call systems, he saw how cost savings could be delivered without any reduction in quality by automating simple tasks via the web and routing calls more intelligently.
Gavan Doherty, managing director, 247meeting, said “Existing conference call services process simple requests like account creation and invoicing manually. This takes time and costs money – either in expensive call charges or administration fees. 247meeting allows customers to set their accounts up online and reduces ongoing administration charges by delivering account details, invoices and quotations automatically over the internet.
Hertz Europe has been trialling the service in recent months. Paul Bermingham, IT Director, Hertz Europe, said "It's essential for the European Service Centre of Hertz, based in Dublin, to have a high quality and easy-to-access teleconferencing solution to connect with colleagues from across Europe and the United States. 247meeting provides this solution and their global flat-rate keeps our costs to a minimum."
Speaking about the future development of the market, Gavan Doherty continued “Ease of use and reliability are vital for success in this market. To the user, 247meeting is a standard conference call service that they dial into with their regular landline or mobile phone. The technology in the background works intelligently to route calls by the cheapest method possible. Some companies offer low rates from one or two countries. We offer the same low rate from anywhere in the world. As far as the business user is concerned, it just works – but charges are reduced significantly.”
To celebrate the launch, the company is offering a free trial of its service at www.247meeting.com.

Virtual meeting links Dublin and Cork meetings, without breaking the budget - (26th October, 2007)
Last night 247meeting organised an Irish first, linking up two meetings in different cities via Web Conferencing. Abbott Laboratories had flown top international obesity expert, Professor Krzysztof Narkiewicz in to Dublin for the evening to give a presentation on his research to a group of medical professionals. Abbott Laboratories wanted to share this presentation with as many medical professionals as possible, but given the heavy workload Irish medical staff are under, only those based in Dublin were likely to attend. Abbott called on 247meeting to deliver a tailored solution - using 247meeting's Web Conferencing, we were able to broadcast the meeting live to a venue in Cork, allowing a group of medical professionals based in Cork to attend, hear the presentation in Dublin, and ask questions. All at a fraction of the cost of expensive dedicated video conferencing solutions.
247meeting signs agreement with Persony to sell Web Conferencing software - (20th September, 2007)
247meeting has signed an agreement with Persony Inc to market and distribute its award-winning Web Conferencing software. The offering from Persony particularly impressed us on 2 counts:
- affordability: Persony is finally making Web Conferencing affordable for all companies, not just large blue-chip corporates
- no download needed: for someone to view a Persony Web Conference, all they need is Adobe Flash, which is installed on 98% of browsers already. No need to call IT to install anything or go through fiddly setups, it just works!
Keep an eye on the website to try it when available from 247meeting.
