Do I need to have any special software or equipment to use this?
No. You need a regular phone for the Audio Conferencing and an Internet connection for the Web Conferencing. No special equipment is needed by you or your Guests.
Can people use mobile phones or speakerphones to dial into the conference call?
Yes, they can. Bear in mind that if someone is travelling, they may bring more background noise into the call. See our tips on Improving Audio Quality and Reducing Noise for more information.
Does it matter what dial-in number people dial in on?
No it doesn't - people generally prefer to dial into their own local number to keep their call costs down, but if you were in say Brussels, you could dial into the New York number to get into your conference call.
Can I hold an International Conference Call?
Yes - your guests can dial from anywhere in the world to any of our International dial-in numbers. The system puts callers into conference only based on their PIN code, not what dial-in number they dial into. You could have a conference call with the Host dialling into the Dublin number, and Guests dialling into Cape Town, London or also Dublin.
Is there a different cost for the international dial-in numbers?
For the numbers listed on our International dial-in numbers page, the same cost applies whether the caller is dialling into a local number in Japan or a local number in London.
Who pays for the actual call made into the conference?
Each of your callers will pay their normal call bill to their own provider, eg if your callers dial into conference from the UK they will pay BT or whoever. At the end of the month, the Host is billed separately by 247meeting for the conference call facility.
Do I have to book or is this available 24 hours?
No - once you have your Host and Guest PIN codes, these are available at any time of day or night. No need to reserve or contact us, just pick a time and hold your conference call.
What's the difference between a Host PIN code and Guest PIN code?
Using the Host PIN code means that you control when the conference opens and closes! Your Guests will be on hold music until the Host arrives, so the conference can only happen when the Host is present.
If my Guests dial in without me what happens?
All Guests will hear hold music until the Host arrives.
How many callers can you have in a conference call?
Up to 90 callers can join your conference, but you will find that if you have more than about 20 callers on your conference call, you'll need some way to manage who speaks when. For this you can use some of the advanced features, such as 'Lecture Mode'.
How many Hosts can you have in a conference call?
You can have as many Hosts as you want on your call. The first Host to dial in stop the hold music.
If I need to hold another conference call at the same time, can I use the same PIN codes?
No - if you try this, you will meet each other in conference unexpectedly. Say for example your Marketing Department organised a conference call at 11:00am and your Engineering Department organised a call at the same time, using the same PIN codes. Both departments would end up in the same call unexpectedly. You should add another User by logging in to your account on www.247meeting.com as an Administrator - in this case you would add a new user called 'Marketing' or 'John Smith' if John was the contact point in Marketing.
How to set up a new user?
To avoid different groups trying to use the same PIN codes at the same time, it's safer to create a new user with their own Host & Guest codes. You can do this online: go to www.247meeting.com -> click on 'My Account' -> login using your email and the 'Forgot Password' link if needs be. Once logged in go to the 'Administration' tab and click 'Add new user'. It's free to set up new users and makes security & tracking simpler.
Can I really save money with 247meeting?
Yes, 247meeting can deliver savings of 66% on conference call services.

I've to give you my email address - isn't that dangerous?
No, it's not dangerous. You're right to be cautious about giving out your email address, but here at 247meeting we value your privacy probably more than you do. Check out all the details on our Privacy Policy, but in short, we hate companies that take email addresses and sell them to other companies, or send you constant SPAM. Is video conferencing available?

No - our standard price is 5c per minute
How do you charge for it?

Yes they can - they can either dial the number you dial, or there will be a number local to them on www.247meeting.com/numbers
What's the difference between a Guest and a Host PIN code?
Using the Host PIN code means that your Guests will be on hold music until the Host arrives - the conference can only start when the Host is present.
I'm hosting a call in the United Kingdom, but some of my Guests are dialling in from the United States and other countries. Which dial-in number should I give them?
You can give them the link to this page, or look up the number that's nearest to them in the United States. You could also log in (click on 'My Account' above, the click on the link to numbers in other locations' and forward them the US freephone number.
Do these numbers work from mobile phones?
Absolutely - because most of our numbers are local numbers, they work just the same as if you were ringing a shop or business in the same city
Can someone in France dial into one of the UK numbers?
Yes, in general most phones will allow the French caller to make a call to the UK (unless international calls are purposely blocked, eg from their place of work). There's no difference to the conference call, but it might be cheaper for your French guest to dial a local number listed on the dial-in numbers page.
